Despite this, Nokia recently noted that their cdma marketshare had increased "well" into double digits (whatever "well" means).

I kind of wonder about this statistic....

Korea, Japan and Sprint PCS will probably account for around 32 million out of the total of 75 million CDMA handsets sold this year. Nokia has a marketshare of basically 0% among these three. This means that they must be selling around 10 million of the remaining 43 million handsets....a marketshare of 23%. This probably makes them the single largest supplier of handsets for Verizon/Alltel/Leap plus Latin America. Pretty good....if true. I kind of wonder about this when I hear statistics out of Korea about the marketshare of LG and Samsung in Latin America.

For example, I think that Samsung has stated that they hold 30% of the Brazilian market.
