Maybe I don't understand what this discussion is all about

An article was posted stating that Medicare covers "less than people think." It specifically mentioned routine physicals, emails, and phone calls. That was objected to as though it were a slander against Medicare that something like that might not be covered. Of course it covers them, was the response. Later I was challenged to identify anything that it didn't cover as though that would be impossible to do.

So the discussion was about whether things were covered, not whether they should be covered.

I don't see any reason why we should expect any kind of health care program to pay for every conceivable test and for as often as any person would want to take those tests.

I don't, either. All plans ration. They have to. Who does the rationing and how astutely they do it can be called into question but arguing that Medicare or any other plan covers whatever someone might expect to be covered is doomed to failure.
