The yew tree is very rare, unfortunately. There are very few of them and not enough to save many people. Perhaps someday people will figure out a way to farm yew trees. Until then if we cut them all down they'll just be extinct.

You cannot attack Gore on the environment. He takes courageous stands against big interests on these issues. And some of us really care about those issues. In the long run it is one of the most important issues there is due to over-population in the world. We have very little left in the world. That which remains must be protected as much as possible. If you're a religious man and nature is God's creation then your duty is to care about that. Even if we billions of people have to do with a little less from time to time. Ingenuity is the best way to find win-win solutions. We literally depend on nature for our survival though whether we realize it or not. Poisoning air and water and cutting down all the trees is no solution to anything. And if you care about future generations you'll care even more.
