They are barbaric even by 7th century standards. Why so few speak up on this issue is beyond me. This is NOT a cultural misunderstanding as many paint it.....it is a basic human rights issue. All people should be able to make choices of their own free will......when this does not happen, it becomes a human rights issue. The fact that people must wear burquas in some of these societies is appaling, and yet so few will speak out against it, for fear of being labeled this or that. The fact that there can be "honor killings" even in western societies accepted by their culture is also a human rights issue. When will people wake up?
