I thought the war was a humanitarian effort? A liberation. A completely altruistic endeavor on behalf of the Iraqi people.

I don't know where you got that idea. The liberation of the Iraqi people was a tremendous by-product of providing for our national security. As it turned out, the liberation became the story because it is such an obviously more appealing success story.

And because we can't find those damn WMD. Where the hell did Saddam hide them?
