My recollection, which may be colored by hyperbole, is that the entire NY Times coverage amounted to one story saying "The Swift Boat Veterans are lying because Kerry says they are"

Mine is that the NYT coverage amounted to, "The Swift Boat Vets are lying because they took money from - gasp! - Republicans, so they must be creatures of Karl Rove. We'll trace the connections for you."

Of course my memory is strictly accurate, no hyperbole involved.

It's going to be interesting to hear Kerry keep answering Democrats who cry, "But why didn't you just release your records?"

He will remind them all over again what a lousy candidate he was. And how uniquely out of touch he is with the impression he creates on others.
