Two CBS journalists killed in Iraq attack 17 minutes ago

Two members of a CBS Corp news crew were killed on Monday and another seriously wounded in a bomb attack on a U.S military patrol in Baghdad, the U.S. television network said.

Cameraman Paul Douglas, 48, and soundman James Brolan, 42, were killed and correspondent Kimberly Dozier, 39, was in critical condition from wounds suffered when a roadside bomb exploded, CBS said in a statement.

Douglas and Brolan were British; Dozier is an American, CBS in London said. The journalists had been embedded with the U.S. military.

The network said in its statement that doctors were "cautiously optimistic" about Dozier's condition after she had surgery at a U.S. military hospital in the Iraqi capital.

The attack was one of a series of blasts on Monday that claimed at least 38 lives, most of them in Baghdad, police said.
