TelMex to conduct Performance Trials on mPhase's Traverser Digital Video and Data Delivery System
Business Wire - July 26, 1999 11:18
NORWALK, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 26, 1999--mPhase Technologies (OTCBB:XDSL) announced today that TelMex (NYSE ADR:TMX), the leading telecommunications services provider in Mexico, will conduct performance trials on mPhase's Traverser digital video and data delivery system (DVDDS).

mPhase reported that TelMex will evaluate the performance of mPhase's Traverser DVDDS as a product solution for simultaneous delivery of next generation digital television programming, high-speed Internet and traditional voice services over a single pair of existing copper telephone wires to consumers and businesses.

"We are pleased that TelMex, a leading international telecommunications company has recognized the astounding potential of offering digital TV, voice, and data simultaneously over the existing copper infrastructure." said mPhase Technologies President and Chief Executive Officer, Ronald A. Durando.

"After extensive due diligence, TelMex will be the first international telecommunications company to demo the Traverser DVDDS system. Our technology will allow TelMex to provide their customers with services traditionally provided by 3 separate companies: the telephone company, cable company, and an Internet Services Provider, in areas where such offerings might be sparse, if at all. The mPhase Traverser DVDDS will also enable TelMex to overcome the constraints usually associated with the local loop," added Durando.
