Why do you see churches as political? That is the problem with the rightwing, and it's a huge un-American thing going on. The rightwing believes that their evangelical churches (some of them filled with con men, charlatans and nutballs) should be political and on the side of the rightwing GOP. Separation of church and state is there for an important reason. Religious fanatics do not think rationally and can be dangerous to society. I have never been to a church which is political. If one tried to be, I would confront the minister directly and remind him of the Constitution.
