Historically, plasma has cost a little less than LCD. However, LCD prices are coming down. I have a friend in the glass biz. They sell to some of the big screen TV makers. Their business model calls for significant drops in price for the next several years, which is a trend we've been seeing for a while now. Used to be you had to pay upwards of $3,000 for a 46". The same can be had now for half that or less.
