During last quarter's presentation, he gave the impression that the turn around is on track. That was when many people bought the stock. He was fully aware of the problem then. If he was honest then, at least he would have hurt fewer people. The current situation with CPU is so bad and the stock is so depressed, he needs to do something drastic to turn the downward momentum around and spook the short a little bit. Two things he can do to save this stock now: (1) resign himself; (2) negotiate a deal with other companies.
