I apologize if this has already been posted, but this news is the first time that I've actually seen something in print with a portal name attached to it (besides what I've read here).

On the front page of of this morning's Atlanta Journal-Constitution business section is the headline "CheckFree, Yahoo! strike deal". Here is an excerpt from the article:

Norcross-based CheckFree has signed a deal that will make Yahoo! a place on the Internet to get and pay your bills, according to an analyst who follows the industry.

Avivah Litan, market researcher with the Gartner Group, said she was not sure when CheckFree would announce the deal but she believed the announcement would come today.

CheckFree declined to comment on the deal because it is in a quiet period because earnings will be released today, spokeswoman Laurinda Wilson said.
