JF, <Clinton... remember the bull market, the budget surplus and the strong dollar?>

Which only proves my point even further.

No one cared that Clinton lied and obstructed justice while in office.

No one cared while Enron and Worldcom were cooking the books in the latter part of the 90's. (Oh by the way, they were doing their dirty little deeds well before GW Bush took the oath.)

And no one cared when GW Bush sold off his stock in Harken Energy over a decade ago in what might appear to be insider trading.

Why? Because of the bull market. Because there was a budget surplus. Because everyone's 401(k) was lookin' pretty good. Because no one was directly affected, or so it seemed.

Only when it all comes crashing down do people want heads put up on pikes for public display. Only when it directly hits people's wallets do Americans wake up. All of a sudden, honesty and integrity is important? Why wasn't it important before?

I'll say it again: People don't care, as long as they're making money. That's the Clinton legacy for you.
