Who says they're poor? They fall into the "below poverty level" because they're not earning - they don't have jobs. With welfare, food stamps and aid to minor children, add that several people in the household are collecting from various sources, life is good - and probably going to get better. All depends on how you were raised. Entitlement is a way of life.

It doesn't stop there. I have a neighbor who married a poverty stricken young lady from the Philippines about 12 years ago. Each year, she brought one family member over (because that's all that's allowed) and each one in turn collects social security. They all live in a mansion in an upscale part of town now, complements of the U.S. government. There are 8 of them here now and none of them works. What a great country!!
