Hi everyone, I don't post on this thread much, but I do follow AAPL stock.
I couldn't be any happier at the news today. Despite a maturing smartphone market, Apple is selling iPhones like crazy, and today was confirmation of that. This IMO is bigger news than the 7:1 split or the increased stock buyback.
By the way, new apps continue to be released on iOS first, Android second. Tim Cook has mentioned this before, but I believe it should be repeated. The "quality of customers" (if you get the drift) buying into the iOS ecosystem is high, and that helps shield Apple from the forces of commoditization that, e.g., Android OEMs are exploiting. In other words, people who just want something cheap will buy Android. People who want something useful will buy Apple.
I used to think that the "cult of Apple" was fading away, but now I'm a happy member of it. ;-)
