Watch for the articles and media comments about how this is all being caused by Canada having troops in Afganistan. The muslim apologists for these guys are already saying so as are the antimilitarists, pacifists and other cowards but it's going to get less traction. I can see it already in the treatment it's getting in the papers. I think what's going to happen is that the fashionability of terrorist behaviour amongst these fellows is going to be diminished by what amounts to feet-first-life sentences. Canada didn't bumble into this PC-multicultural mess. We did it decisively and efficiently, and despite our nice guy image, once we make the decision, we'll move out of it equally decisively and efficiently. The new government was climbing spectacularly in the polls before the terrorism arrests and I can't see that changing unless they step in the corruption doodoo and it's far too early in the mandate for that.
