Of course the irony of the delay "problems" is that it is to DMT/Amati's advantage that any delay in the decision between CAP and DMT occurs, as Bob and others have pointed out previously. DMT technology is on the steep portion of the engineering/cost reduction curve. The size, energy consumption, and cost improvements make DMT more competitive with each month. I think the longer term investors/institutions realize this, and we are experiencing merely a minor pullback now. I suspect that newbies who buy at 12 will be rewarded over the next 6-12 months. I have advised my friends and family to do so (after cautioning about the roller-coaster nature of ADSL).

Richard

<<[ CG availability]

Does anybody here sense that the reason there
has not been a rollout of xDSL services yet is
due to two factors:

1) The 'slow' nature of the RBOC's
2) The absence of any power-friendly DMT solution.

Until AMTX/ others have a product (the RBOC's will not
go with only one vendor) I don't see deployment happening.
I would guess that w/in a few months of the CG/TI-based
modem, we will have orders. Not until, IMHO.>>
