Haddington progresses in mine down under Haddington International Resources Ltd HDN Shares issued 1,462,111 Aug 24 close $0.14 Thu 24 Aug 2000 News Release Mr. Colin McCavana reports Haddington International Resourced Limited is aggressively progressing development of its Bald Hill Tantalite project in Western Australia in line with its target of achieving production during mid-2001. The company has completed a drilling program of 22 large diameter PQ3 diamond core holes at Bald Hill. The holes were drilled to provide samples for confirmation of previous metallurgical testing and to provide design criteria for the mine and process plant. The diamond holes have been drilled across the resource to collect a representative sample of ore. About 130 metres of pegmatic was intercepted producing some 1.8 tonnes of pegmatite for the metallurgical program. The sample being processed by AMMTECC laboratories in Perth, Australia in accordance with the proposed treatment plant flow sheet, and using water collected from a bore at Bald Hill. Tantalite can be observed in the core, as coarse to very fine-grained, tabular to prismatic crystals disseminated throughout the albite-rich assemblage. Analysis of the core will be carried out in conjunction with the metallurgical test program. The company is well advanced with its notice of intent to mine, and has commissioned the environmental, botanical and aboriginal studies for the project. Preliminary pit designs and conceptual waste dump and tailing dam designs have been prepared together with independent verification of previous ore resource calculations. Haddington is confident that it will comfortably meet its contractual obligations of commencement of plant construction at Bald Hill by March 31, 2001, and completion by Dec. 31, 2001. Haddington International Resources Ltd - News Release Haddington updates mineral exploration in Liberia Haddington International Resources Ltd HDN Shares issued 1,462,111 2000-08-21 close $0.15 Tuesday Aug 22 2000 News Release Mr. Colin McCavana reports The company's consultants have completed a field and data review of its three exploration licences in Liberia covering 3,500 square kilometres (the Zorzor, Sanoyle and Haindi licences). The aim of the program was to review the general geology and all the major geological units within the licences to identify target areas for conversion to exploration licences and later exploration. All the available geological data in Liberia was reviewed before commencing field operations. A major component of the fieldwork was a reconnaissance sampling program, which was undertaken to identify the specific target areas within the licence areas. A total of 114 samples were taken, comprising 61 soil samples, 38 stream sediment samples, 14 rock samples and one gravel sample. The samples collected were processed by S.G.S. Laboratory Services Ghana, Ltd., and, in general, gold values were close to the detection limit. The company's consultants have concluded that the Zorzor licence area is the most prospective of the three licence areas for gold mineralization. Two areas totalling approximately 350 square kilometres in the Zorzor licence area have been recommended for retention as exploration licences. An area of 130 square kilometres in the Zorzor licence area have been recommended for retention as exploration licences. An area of 130 square kilometres has been identified as a priority area, which merits detailed follow-up to define bedrock gold mineralization. An extended program of soil and stream sediment sampling is also recommended prior to target definition by soil sampling in this area. A further 220 square kilometres has been recommended as the focus of further reconnaissance. Also, within the Zorzor licence, an area of 600 square kilometres contains reported alluvial diamond workings. This area has been recommended for an airborne magnetic survey to define diamond and gold targets. The reconnaissance work undertaken suggests that the Haindi and Sanoyle licence areas also have potential for gold mineralization, with eight soil and stream sediment samples returning values between 10 and 20 parts per billion gold. These results are significant when considered with the fact that there is very little weathering of the country rock resulting in no supergene enrichment of the mineralization. These licences have also been recommended for consideration for diamond target development using airborne magnetics. The company is enthusiastic about the prospectivity of its Liberian licences and is currently assessing recommendations for further reconnaissance and exploration work, prior to consolidation and renewal of the licences.
