I got hacked again. I would be a bit peeved but each hack ends up teaching me quite a bit about what is possible. Here are some of the things that I learned this time around.

1) It is possible to hide processes on a linux machine so that even root can not see them when running the ps command.

2) It is possible to set a file up so that even root can not remove it.

If anyone is interested I can explain how I solved both problems.

I'll tell you, you can learn a lot from watching these guys at work.

BTW, was anyone else tangled in the Qwest DSL outage. Qwest claimed that they lost a major connection to the internet and it was effecting most major metro areas. Reality of the situation is that the Code Red worm was wrecking havok with the Cisco DSL routers that Qwest is so proud of.
