Hi ratan, By the definitions of this thread I am a position trader. I regard part of the challenge as being able to design a model which will have me on the correct side of the market overnight most of the time. I designed my proprietary model from first principles, so it is applicable to any tradable (trading with sufficient volume) stock as far as I know. I make about 6 trades per month, swinging form short to long to short to long, etc. About 40% of the trades lose money, and I trade shares, not options. I have no idea as to how to guess at a rate of return, as this would involve predicting the price action of the stock. I trade Intel exclusively. Like with most trading methods, I cannot make money in a sideways market. Hope this answers your questions. Best Trading, X
