BOS in its prior, dividend-paying incarnation was an equity I held, for a time. Under the current structure, it functions (imo, natch) as a trading sardine and a memento piece (buy one share in your celtics fanboy friend's name, get the certificate delivered out, frame it for his birthday).

If you want to trade sardines, it's great. If you want a sliver of ownership in a domestic professional sports franchise, you might consider BOS6F38, a 6% coupon 2038 bond they foisted on old-BOS holders during the reorg; if the franchise ever gets sold, those will probably get taken out. FD: while I have considered that one from time to time, I have never owned it. Either way, I definitely recommend you do your own DD on their byzantine financial structure.
