I haven't followed the process at all. But I don't think that T has received any necessary blessing from any regulator yet let alone a vote from its shareholders which is probably required.

I bought my T following the Dogs of the Dow strategy, so the only thing that I know about the company is that it was one of the low priced high yielding DJIA members. If it's not there on its anniversary, I sell. If it is, I hold for another year.
