I am not sure how helpful this news will be to Smartire.

To me it just suggests 3DM will be competition to Smartire/TRW.

The part you highlight does suggests the next generation Transcense technology will be licenced by Smartire/TRW, so I suppose that is useful to know (ie that TRW is still teaming with Smartire).

But I've been following this stock for over 5 years, and I still don't see anything (other than the new US legislation) that is markedly different from what I saw 5 years ago. They keep talking about new products and new R&D, they keep teaming with different companies and licencing technology from other companies, and they keep losing money with their products.

Only their stock deal with Transense made money for them.

Perhaps when we get closer (within 1 year??) to the "deadline" date for the US legislation things will get a bit more clear.
