Jiggy,
Just to briefly interject.
I personally believe that John Hull is not just putting spin on the news to pump the stock. Intel has, in the past, been quite conservative in their statements regarding earnings. As (at least I understand from your postings) a Street professional, you should know that, in the long run, any company caught lying or even making a mistake in leading the investment community will pay a heavy price (nobody will believe them for quite some time). Based on this, the consistency of the Intel message, and other information (from different market sources), it seems likely that 2nd quarter earnings will rise.
What will happen in the third and fourth quarters? Depends on Windows NT and when MMX actually hits.
In regard to your use of an alias, I don't think that some additional information about your background would violate your C/A (just keep the firm name and, if you feel it necessary, your real name confidential).
I agree that any of us here could be misleading the others about who we are, but the fact that many of the participants feel free to counter any point is a strength (people have to be willing to support their positions). Based on what people say, we can determine who we wish to agree with.
The future is in a fog. Just because we disagree, at times, doesn't mean that you motives, my motives, or the motives of anyone else are questionable.
By the way, your comment about Kurlack is reasonable. I don't necessarily feel comfortable with him on my side. He may be a contrary indicator (hopefully he is just as he appears, surfing on a wave he can't control - only amplifying it slightly).
