I'm watching the last two episodes of Hamish Macbeth right now. Your linked article suggests he is a pot smoking constable. I knew he rolled his own, but I assumed it was Bull Durham tobacco.

Both of these shows are very different from most American shows. The closest American show is Northern Exposure.
