It is the history of fiat monies starting in the middle ages.history,formuli,phsycology.It boils down to this.Fiat is fine and useful when you can trust it to be convertible at a constant price to gold and silver over extended periods of time.That depends on Gov.reliability.More often than not governments have not kept the faith,will ours?
