Hi Gloop....I personally think that the best way to teach our young kids about politics, isn't to teach them politics yet. Get them to really learn and understand WHY and HOW this country was formed....what led to the American Revolution and why it was important...then the men (and women) who helped form this country....Who was George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, etc.....

Go get the John Adams DVD that HBO did....He really will be riveted with it...

Eventually take him to Philly and to Williamsburg, so he can actually see what and where things happened.

Take him to Colonial Williamsburg and stay within that area...Do go to the DeWitt museum there, and take in any number of "in person" talks...I met Thomas Jefferson there in person (aka Bill Baker) but I truly believed he was Thomas Jefferson!

Take him to some of the early cemeteries to show him where people who formed this country are buried....

Take him to the Williamsburg Bookstores.....AMAZING Place for Historical accurate books for kids and adults!

That's a ditto when you take him to DC as well....The American History Museum there has a HUGE bookstore on the bottom floor....

When you can help kids understand the history of the Country, you will have 3/4 of the job done....Then they too, will become invested in OUR JOINT Country and will learn about the various political matters and know what they think will be helpful to keeping this Grand Land of Ours!!!

Good Wishes!
