15:30 ET Dow +390, Nasdaq +168, S&P +46.18: [BRIEFING.COM] With a half hour remaining in regular session trade activity, the
indices are holding the bulk of today's gains. In light of today's move, we thought it would make sense to take a look at how the markets
reacted to the last inter-meeting rate cut on January 3, 2001. Not unlike today, stocks staged a massive one-day rally on the day of the rate
cut. We saw some residual follow through on the day following the rate cut which fizzled about mid-day. That marked the near-term
peak; from that highpoint the indices retraced roughly 10% before consolidating for another move higher. DJTA +3.5%... DJUA -0.7%...
SOX +13.6%... XOI -1.0%... BTK +6.7%... Nasdaq 100 +11.5%... S&P Midcap 400 +4.0%... Russell 2000 +3.1%... NYSE Adv/Dec
2084/988... Nasdaq Adv/Dec 2908/1077.
