Microsoft is the world leader because it is good at catching on quickly. Why would one of the richest companies in the world, on the leading edge use ADSL over Fiber? Simple, the most heavily travelled path will be ADSL, you have to experience it to create for it. What better way to get a jump on the competition. The concept of ADSL built into your Web TV is totally logical and simple to the consumer. Plug them in and feed them what they want. Fast moving video, games, even on line education and medical services over the TV, as well as homeshopping. The significance of the GTE announcement seems to be overlooked by the analysts. Oh, well they aren't paid to be visionaries like Bill Gates. Thats why he has more money.
