How could FRE protect appraisers? The whole thing seems convoluted and non sequitur.

What court did he want to sue them in? He could have reported them to the FDIC for suspicion of violations of FIRREA Title XI and let them investigate it. I'm certain Fannie and Freddie must be required to abide by those regs, mainly indirectly, because neither do direct lending. By requiring the following of those regs in all loans guaranteed, no pressure should ever arise on appraisers.
