Apple (AAPL) Not Expected to Announce iPhone 6 or iWatch at WWDC Next Week - Analyst
May 27, 2014 8:27 AM EDT

Cantor Fitzgerald maintained a Buy rating on Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) with a price target of $777.
Analyst Brian J. White discussed Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference set for June 2nd.
While Apple isn't expected to announce the iPhone 6 or the iWatch, its new iOS 8 may include health-
related capabilities and other new features.

"After a major aesthetic upgrade with iOS 7 at last year's WWDC, we expect Apple to unveil iOS 8 with

a focus on expanding the use cases and experience of iOS devices. Given our expectation of an "iWatch"
this fall, we expect new health-related features and capabilities to be in focus with iOS 8 this week, while
we anticipate further improvements around Siri, Maps, iCloud, and more. Yesterday, the Financial Times
reported that Apple is creating a "new software platform for the Smart Home" and allowing consumers to
control their home with their Apple iOS device. During our China Tour last October, we indicated that we
believed"iWatch" could be used as a multi-purpose gateway for consumers to control their home. Finally,
if Apple is serious about the purchase of Beats, as reported by the Financial Times this month, we believe
WWDC is an ideal venue to introduce the team," said White.

"On the hardware side, we do not expect Apple to unveil the larger-sized iPhone 6 (i.e., 4.7-inch, 5.5-inch)

or the "iWatch" next week, as we believe these devices are more likely to be announced in the fall. That
said, Apple typically has a Mac update to announce at WWDC, and thus we would not be surprised if a
refresh of either the iMac or the MacBook Air/Pro occurs," he added.
