Yes, I do wish they'd have just contacted OE for their OCP.

But on the other hand, this was an excellent demonstration of what happens when you try to do DFI on your own! I am very interested in whether Bimota can indeed solve the problem - it's my belief that it may not be that easy: Bimota's contention that the problem was mainly ports being manufactured misaligned may just be an excuse. Some other motorcycle publications think that Bimota still has problems with the DFI. And Bimota delivering the initial run of Vdue's that didn't run right has made them look really bad. We'll see.

I've been hoping the rumors that Honda IS working on a two-stroke street bike were true. These came about from Honda's 50th Anniversary celebration, and said the two-stroke street bike would be a good way to demonstrate their engineering prowess. But haven't heard anything lately, so I'm guessing it wasn't true. If Honda builds one, I'll buy it - to replace my Honda Hawk 650. If you've worked on a Honda (or Acura), you know what I mean. The Acura NSX is truly the highest quality automobile ever built at any price. The jack is a work of art in itself! Welded up from aluminum. My Hawk has a beautiful aluminum frame and single-sided swingarm that Honda licenses from Elf. The VFR750 I sold to buy a jetski had gear drive cams! There are ZERO street cars with gear drive cams because of the prohibitive cost. It's the ultimate way to control cam timing, but the precision machine work required has everyone running belts or chains.
