Here's the latest from The Tennessee Investor (615 254 0992 - Buzz Heidtke & Co.) November 1998 (in quotes)

"As expected Service reported dismal 3Q sales figures of $605 million, a 7.8% decrease from 1997. Same store sales declined 5.2%. 3Q per share earnings declined 38 cents vs a 25 cent loss. Avoid stock."

Personally I've taken this one off my watch list. The service at Service is terrible in our local stores, a buyout could prove interesting though but there are better deals. A favorite retailer of The Tennessee Investor is SATH. I'm long on SATH.
