Cincinnati 71, Louisville 57

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - D'Juan Baker scored 18 points and Shawn Myrick sparked a second-half spurt as Cincinnati held Louisville without a field goal for nearly 11 minutes in a 71-57 victory Sunday.

Cincinnati (13-2, 5-0 Conference USA) trailed 43-40 with 13:52 remaining when the Bearcats went on a 16-6 run to take a 56-49 lead with 6:56 left. Myrick scored five of his eight points during the run.

Cameron Murray's 3-pointer with 11:11 left gave the Cardinals a 49-46 lead, but Louisville didn't get another field goal until Eric Johnson scored with 26 seconds remaining.

The Bearcats extended their winning streak to nine games while Louisville (7-10, 1-3) lost its third straight.

Melvin Levett added 15 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for Cincinnati.

Louisville was led by Nate Johnson with 14 points and eight rebounds.

The Cardinals were 22-of-58 from the field, including 5-of-16 from 3-point range, and 8-of-17 at the foul line. The Cardinals also had 18 turnovers, and the Bearcats scored 20 points off them.

Cincinnati shot 41 percent (25-of-61) and was 18-of-30 from the free throw line. The Bearcats outrebounded Louisville 49-34 and had 16 second-chance points.

Cincinnati senior forward Ruben Patterson played for the first time this season after serving a 14-game suspension from the NCAA for accepting illegal benefits. He entered the game 53 seconds in and finished with four points, four rebounds and four assists in 20 minutes.
