Brian L. Halla Biography

Brian L. Halla, 49, was elected chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of National Semiconductor Corporation in May, 1996. He was previously executive vice president, LSI Logic Products, for LSI Logic Corporation, where he had worked since 1988.

At LSI Logic, Mr. Halla was responsible for the company's portfolio of products for selected vertical markets including networking/telecommunications, digital video and computer system logic.

Prior to joining LSI Logic, Mr. Halla was director of marketing for the Microcomputer Group at Intel Corporation. Earlier, he held a variety of management positions at Intel, and was Manager, Applications Engineering, at Control Data Corporation.

Mr. Halla has a BSEE degree from the University of Nebraska.
