[Questions on Pat's report]

Rob,

I felt the same way...and have chosen not to track the stock every
hour. Not that there isn't opportunity to trade it...it just takes
mucho time and alot of luck with the way this jumps around.

Pat's reports from yesterday have given me a "high comfort level"
with GTE's progress. I was extremely surprised by a comment of
hers:

"I talked to Bill Kula after the press conference and he's very
optimistic about ADSL deployment. Amati will play a big role and
there's even a chance WSTL is being left out --- my theory is this
is why the annc. is being delayed. ONLY a theory."

Again, it's only a theory. But the fact that Amati would play a big
role in a National High Speed Internet Service Provider who can
"bundle" other communications capability is good enough for me.
