The average selling price of WP8 at $127 is 36.6% higher than WP7 for
the same period last year. WP8 beat both MS Office 97, and MS Office
97 Professional in unit volumes at the retail level for the month of
June.
PC Data indicates that July retail sales for WP8 were just as strong,
if not stronger, than June.
If August is similar to June and July, then it is probably safe to
assume that retailers have probably been busy re-ordering more
shipments of WP8 this month. I mean, how long would it take to flush
300,000 units (the amount put into the channels) when sales of WP8 are
stronger than MS Office 97 and MS Office 97 Professional. Certainly
the channel inventories of WP8 must of dried up by now.
