Pentagon officials envisioned having about 100,000 troops there immediately after the war, but they hoped that number would be quickly drawn down. The problems in Iraq haven't prevented the Brits. from drawing down 30k of their 45k troops and sending them home. Where are our allies like Germany and France when you need them most.
