The bottom line: If you truly believe that old and small correlations (not causation) are statistically significant and will repeat, then just take a position in all splitting stocks, hedge verses broader market movement, and profit from the spread. Easy money, right?

Yes, it is. Just like it has been easy money to invest in AAPL as a long since the split announcement – yet another opportunity to profit from Apple's fortunes that you've blown due to your allegiance to all things Google.

Time to start learning from your mistakes, methinks, instead of sticking to your guns so steadfastly. That is if profit matters at all to you.
