Yes, that is amazingly to the point. I support the elimination of anti- sodomy statutes, although, as far as I know, they go unenforced. Other things, case by case. Now, there is evidence that the degree to which racial prejudice enters into the problems of blacks may have been exaggerated. West Indians, and even their offspring, do better than indigenous African- Americans. (Colin Powell and Louis Farrakhan are both from that background, incidentally). The difference is acute, and suggests that other factors are more important. Nevertheless, discrimination on the basis of skin color continues to exist, and when it is blatant and harmful should be illegal, whether, in a given instance, the liability is criminal or civil...... |
