hi pw i'm happy that you (and hopefully one or two others!) found the tutorial link tutorialfind.com to your liking. while i did not have time to investigate every nuance of the site, i did make a few quick trips to various topics, like computer basics, DOS, and operating systems, and saw immediately that they were free (one of my first concerns!) and detailed and good. also, that is one heck of a serious comment you made in your postscript.... "Without exaggeration, I'd claim that everything I know about computers today was learned from reading posts and chasing links on this thread" i'm going to have to join you in that claim, pw, and add that the process has been most enjoyable to boot (pun intended). :) mark
