cirrus, The direct, determined communicator in last night's debate was Pres GW Bush. His role as Comforter in Chief to FL hurricane victims for days before 1st debate drained his usual energy & up-lifting spirit. They returned with a vengeance last night. Bush even elicited a couple chuckles from the crowd when he responded to a Kerry answer with "that statement almost made me scowl." After Kerry stated that GW owned a lumber company, the Pres responded with "I do??"...then to the moderator "need some wood?" LOL
