Yeah I thought fingerprint sensor too. But I'm not sure, in fact I lean towards thinking that's not a big enough enticement for people to upgrade. My guess is most people use pads at home where security is not as big of an issue.

Phones, of course, go on the road so a lost phone means security IS an issue. One wonders what Apple could do with pads to entice consumers to upgrade.

The obvious is to make them obsolete via software which is what they do to force Mac owners to upgrade. Long term that's not a good strategy, it pisses people off.
