The God I believe in is very clear on all matters. There is nothing trivial concerning Him.
God made it very clear. "Thou shall do no murder"... Can't get any clearer than that.....What confuses you and others is that the murder of a baby yet to be born, has been renamed as "abortion", and made legal. And so the clear line that God drew, "thou shall do no murder", became blurred. Again this confusion comes drom man. Not God....
As to Deut.21:18-21...You are right, this is a very tough thing to do,however, you will also notice that there is no punishment assigned to the parents who chose not to do it.But the consequences of ignoring it,are staring us in the face.... we live with those consequences today Big Time...Or should I say,victimized as a result of them.
Although this was part of the code at that time, it was a part only to the extent that God was giving the paretns every right to have full and total control over their children, and this let the children know it. There was no "big brother" at that time, and the people took care of their own affairs. It could be that this is why we have "big brother" today, because the people were not doing a good enough job from keeping their gluttonous, drunken, kids from harming others.
Del there is a whole lot more to this than you want to see...Look at what we have now. A society where the gluttonous, drunken kids rule.
Gluttunous, does not mean "overeaters". It is translated from a Hebrew word which means morally corrupt and vile.... And drunkard today means anthing from beer to heroine. Mind altering drugs which has caused this society nothing but violence and mayhem. So now "big brother" has need to step in and take that "child" from the home of the parents and
do what God said should be done..... But even in that we have failed...for it is not long after the govt. has inflicted a slap on the wrist, that the "child" is out again in society and committing the same heinous crimes.Then one day this "child" turns 18, and is no longer a "child" and his filthy violent record is wiped clean.....And throughout his life that is the only thing about him, that remains clean....sooner or later after many lives have been destroyed by this "child", now an adult,he might, if society is lucky...be treated as the vile wicked torturer that he is... Have you or any member of your family been a victim of one of these gluttonous,drunkards? I pray not.
Steer you away from the truth? ...No way Del. You ask some hard questions, but you don't ask them to understand God better. You ask them in hopes of trapping his servants....Well a true servant will never attempt to excuse God or His ways... God Forbid
As to Jesus. Jesus said.... "Think not that I have come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am come not to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law,till all be fulfilled.

The scribes were the ones who wrote the laws in the books, and kept records of them. They never tried to understand their meaning, and therefore never applied them accordingly or appropiately. The Pharisees were the "high, holier than thou crowd" who were always attempting to trap Jesus, by quoting the law to Him. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees at every turn, because He knew their heart was not for God, but for the law. Which they never understood,so instead they made a "religion"out of them, and their traditions became their stumbling block..To understand a bit more of the Pharisees.See John 8:12-59 as to Jesus's full reply to these Pharisees. Also Luke 18:9-14....FYI, a publican is a tax collector....not favored mch by the Pharisees
Yes Del, Jesus is God....He is God in the flesh...The Son of God, sent to be born of a virgin, to die for the sins of the world. To resurrect on the third day,to set the prisoners free, to take the keys of hell from satan and to once again sit on the right hand side of the Father.
He then sent to us the Holy Spirit who has come to teach us all things about God, which God our Father wants us to know.And we as servants of God have been commissioned by God to spread the good news. So that others will see the truth and they too will then become servants of God. But we don't do this of our own power, we do it by the word and power of our Lord Jesus The Christ....He will return agin soon....Believe it or not.
Del, you mentioned something in another post to someone else about counting you out, or not including you. I don't recall your exact words, forgive me, but you have counted yourself in, you have involved yourself here. I ask you this. Has God sent you or has His enemy sent you?....
