Don't you all feel safer now!
10 FBI Agents and three local officers were involved in the arrest of 120 lbs, 16 year old/10th grader Ashton Lundeby.
A total of 30 Federal Agents were involved in the case, which sounds to me like there's one helluva lot of Federal Anti- Terrorist agents with a lot of unproductive time on their hands.
Two tragedies here...
According to the mother, the case involves this kids Skype (internet telephone) account being hacked, and another kid calling in a bomb scare.
Ashton Lundeby was attending Church services at the time the alleged call was made.
It was reported that the U.S. Attorney in this case testified before a Federal Magistrate that "hacking" a skype account is impossible.
That's complete and total BS. IP hacking, and internet telephony hacking/Skype hacking is done hundreds of thousands of times every day by hackers ranging from bored 12 year olds, to the Chinese Military using bot farms to launch denial of service attacks.
Here's just one article talking about hundreds of people having their Skype phone accounts hacked...
news.softpedia.com
Hundreds of people reported to Skype that their accounts had been hacked. The victims either couldn't log in anymore, or discovered that unapproved payments had been made by someone using the embedded PayPal option. The transactions performed via Skype prompted users to vehemently complain about the security breaches allowed by the company.
And what better method to resort to than writing directly to Skype and asking for some sort of retribution, no matter if it's about retrieval of passwords or refunding the money lost to the hijackers? Surprisingly enough, the company seems to have remained impassive to most of the complaints received so far. On the Skype board of discussions, one user claims to have sent the company one email a day, starting with the moment he discovered that his account had been hacked. In some cases, although at least one month separated the incident from the time of posting on the forum, no answer came from the company.
Hijackers often break into the account and use it to steal, if money is not available, personal information about the persons in the victim's contact list. So, unwary people don't pay attention to details, and can't tell the difference between their friend and the person who hacked into their accounts.
“I usually talk to my brother in Germany several times a week over Skype, and since I got hacked he has seen my account online with changed profile and country setting.” one user says about the moment he realized that his privacy was being endangered....

When they found no evidence of any bomb parts, supplies, books, kits etc... why "The Patriot Act"? Why not put him in a local juvenile facility, and take the time to investigate the case, and let his mother have contact with him and be able to put together a defense?
And another thing...
That this kid was sent from North Carolina to the juvenile facility in South Bend, Indiana - should put the fear of God in his family, his attorney, and his advocates.
Lots of Franklin Cover Up-esque rumors for many years from "top to bottom" about the South Bend juvenile system.
They need to get this kid transferred out of there ASAP.
Why wasn't he put in a facility in North Carolina, or on the East Coast?
This one stinks to high heaven...
Here's a local TV news account of the case:
youtube.com
Nothing was found in this kids home. No anarchist books. No bomb making parts, tools, or supplies. Nothing. The kid has a clean juvenile record. He's a home-schooled Christian who attends church regularly (which makes him a potential terrorist, or modern militia member), I guess that's why they sent 10 FBI agents to storm his mothers house.
What a joke.
Is this what these FBI agents dreamed about doing when they were 16 years old watching Efrem Zimbalist Jr. on television, hoping to become an FBI agent when they grew up?
Did they make America a safer place?
Swoop down with "Shock & Awe" on a 120 lbs. 16 year old, but let the real spies walk...

"Why hasn't Jane Harman been arrested under the Patriot Act"
"Wiretap scandal of leading Democrat 'who lobbied for Israeli spies"
timesonline.co.uk
From The Times April 22, 2009
A prominent Democratic Congresswoman was embroiled last night in a growing scandal involving government wiretaps and her relationship with two alleged Israeli spies.
Jane Harman, a California Democrat with long involvement in US intelligence matters, was allegedly recorded by a Bush administration wiretap promising an Israeli agent that she would intervene on behalf of two pro-Israel lobbyists charged in the US with spying.
In return for pledging to use her influence to get the charges against the two men reduced, Ms Harman, a pro-Israeli hawk, was allegedly told by the unidentified agent that he would put pressure on senior Democrats to get her appointed to a top Congressional intelligence post.
Allegations that Ms Harman had inappropriately used her influence to aid the two employees of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the powerful Israeli lobby group, surfaced in 2006. What is new is the claim that she had been caught on a National Security Agency (NSA) wiretap discussing a “quid pro quo” deal on the case...
