Koskinen was on CNN today 12/5 saying something that this [Karen Holt] reporter, based in Washington DC didn't recall hearing before. Wolf Blitzer asked K. "...whether we'd know on January 1 whether or not we were toast?" (Karen Holt's paraphrasing) Koskinen said that "No, it would take a while. If the power gridS fail, that would take until Wednesday or Thursday [to know]." K. thought that "...he and his crew should be able to make a pretty thorough assessment of the situation by the second weekend in January, not that everything would be fixed by then, but that the situation would be pretty clear." No further discussion ensued. O/49r
