Actually many of those same large companies that began their Y2K testing and fixing early will have a date set after which they will not implement anything new. I know of one multinational consumer products giant that will not implement any new systems or software from October 1, 1999 until some time in January 2000. This concept (appplied by many companies) could hurt the sales figures of many software related companies, IMHO.
