You will notice that Sun's average daily volume is given at the bottom of each SI page as around 12 Millions shares. That's a 1-year average. It is somewhat misleading though, as the average daily volume for SUNW has been below 10m shares daily for the past two months or so following a volume spike a few months long leading up to the split, during which the average was well above 10m with several 20M+ trading days. I don't know how that trend compares to the NAZ in general (maybe somebody else does) but my guess is it's pretty similar.

2nd edit: Actually, is that average on the bottom of the SI page a year average or a 100-day average?
