$17 for VLSI is really $10 'cause VLSI has about $7 in cash. $10 means ~1.5X sales for a company with good business, customer and IPs. Perhaps people can see why I complained bitterly about the 4x sales for SeeQ.

The only guy that I can see who has the 'bulk' to take LSI is IBM. I doubt that they will do that. LSI will have to stand on its own merits.

A bid by LSI for VLSI at $20 for stock is good, 2X sales for (2X sales including 35% self paid for w/cash). Great synergy between LSI and VLSI. Except we've already wasted $100M in stock in SeeQ... If nothing else, bid up the price for Phillips. The Phillips bid won't stand, it's way too cheap. Steinman has to shop the company now, VLSI will go higher than that.
