Ted, Speaking of which, had any brush fires near by yet?
There was one in the mountain range surrounding L.A., the one you drive over as you go down I-5. (What was it called, the "grape vine"?) I remember coming back from a "vacation" in Yosemite (notice the quotes; it was my first backpacking trip), and though I didn't see the fire, I smelled the smoke and saw the fire trucks.

The grapevine goes thru the Tejon Pass.......I think that's still the Angelus Mts. The way Angelenos describe it....there are the Hollywood Hills which are part of the first range and form the west side of the Valley and then the Angelus Mts. form the east side of the Valley and are called the second range. LA proper is east of the Hollywood Hills.

You won't experience any forest fires where you live......more likely brush fires. Wait til Sept.......its the hottest month in CA. This year is so dry; there will be fires everywhere. Its gross.
